William Eugene Bill Mohler 75 of Somerset Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 12 2026 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Bill was born on May 17 1950 in Lancaster Ohio to the late Eugene and Jane Mohler. He grew up on the family farm in Thornville Ohio. Bill graduated from Sheridan High School class of 1968 and attended The Ohio State University. He retired from Bayer Material Science in 2014. Bill dedicated his life to serving others from his years in the National Guard to being a member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 the SomersetReading Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Somerset Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited as well as serving as Mayor of Somerset and Village Council for over 30 years he gave his time energy and heart to his community. After retiring he could often be found at Johns Place in Corning enjoying some coffee and good conversations with his Johns Place friends. He is survived by his mother Wilda L. Willison his son Kevin Sherri Wintermute grandchildren Brittney Landon Shaw and Kyle Samantha Wintermute his greatgrandchildren Kaden Wintermute Charlotte Wintermute and Landry Shaw his brothers Gary and Jerry Willison many nieces nephews and countless Johns Place friends.
