Ruth Y. McElhattan 96 of Punxsutawney died Wednesday April 1 2026 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh PA. She was born August 12 1929 in Quincy Massachusetts the daughter of the late Wilber and Hilda Amsler McElhattan. She was a graduate of Knox High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania along with her Masters degree from Clarion University. She was the Reading Specialist at Punxsutawney Area School District. Ruth was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church. At the request of the Rev. Roger Saunders Ruth and her husband Ray started the Woodland Avenue Methodist Food Pantry. They served in that capacity for fifteen years and were always grateful for the faithful volunteers who helped during that time. Mary "Jo" Mcknight

Mary J. Jo McKnight 85 of Center Street St. Marys passed away peacefully after a brief illness with her loving children by her side on Monday March 30 2026. She was born on February 16 1941 in DuBois PA to Peter Angela Nellie Mikulski Uhrin. In July 1961 she married John Jack McKnight who preceded her in death on October 15 2022. Mary Jo graduated from DuBois High school and relocated to St. Marys after marrying Jack. In her early years she raised her children and worked at CSI Accounting Firm. She had a strong political sense and duty and worked many years at the local voting polls in St. Marys and as a judge of election. Mary Jo enjoyed greatly working for Oak Manor retiring at 82 years of age. While at Oak Manor she nurtured relations with many of the residents and coworkers who became like family to…
