Dana Joye Hoovler Larimer 97 of Brookville PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 31 2026 at her home. Dana was born on December 21 1928 to the late Clarence N. and Louella M. Handy Hoovler in Gusher PA. She graduated from Sheffield High School with the Class of 1946. She continued her education at Clarion Teachers College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1950. Shortly thereafter on June 24 1950 Dana married the love of her life Harold Gilbert Larimer. They shared a wonderful life together and enjoyed the same interests such as square dancing playing cards with friends golfing travel and countless other activities. In their 63 years together they were the epitome of what a loving couple should be She served as librarian at Hickory Grove Elementary School in Brookville for 21 years until her retirement. Josephine Josie Yolanda McElwain 76 of Big Run passed away at home on Thursday April 2 2026 surrounded by those she adored with all her heart. She was born in Punxsutawney on August 29 1949 a daughter of the late Leonard Sciarrini and Yolanda Mary Roselli Sciarrini. On September 28 1996 she married the absolute love of her life Charles Chuckie John McElwain. They enjoyed twentynine years of marriage rooted in love laughter and support. Together they truly completed one another. Josie had a kind and loving presence about her she enjoyed cooking baking and helping the Big Run Volunteer Fire Company with events. She was a member of the Big Run Beta Sorority and the VFW Post 9044 of which she was the past President.
