Mary Ann Germano 96 of Dunmore died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Germano Jr. who died on October 3 2002. Mary Ann was an active member of the Dunmore Senior Center where she participated in Pilates yoga and Tai Chi until the age of 90 when she stopped driving. Mary Ann had her hair done every Friday during her time there at the Kathy Pope Salon. She also enjoyed dancing word searches and crossword puzzles. She was an adventurous spirit and had been known to spend her time in the skies diving out of planes and riding in hot air balloons. She was a member of the Emanon Club with her sisters. Born in Scranton on August 17 1943 Carol was the youngest child of Harold Weber and Evelyn Blum Weber. She was a devoted daughter sister aunt and proud grandmother. Active in the Hazleton Jewish community she worked for a time at the JCC and was a member of Beth Israel Temple where she taught Sunday school and served as president of Hadassah. After graduating from Wilkes College she became an elementary school teacher then stepped away to raise a family. When she later returned to working with children as an autism therapeutic support specialist she was incredibly patient and dedicated to her kids their pictures finding a way onto her refrigerator among those of her own family. Indeed her home was filled with photos and wellpagedthrough albums of family across all generations. Alyce R. DeAntona 74 of West Scranton died early Wednesday at Celebration Villa in Peckville. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph E. DeAntona. Born in Scranton daughter of the late Ray and Helen Edwards Rosengrant she was a graduate of West Scranton High School and had been employed by the Scranton School District prior to her retirement. She had also worked as a receptionist for Studio RD after her retirement and as a teller for the West Side Bank in her younger years. But no matter where she was working she was never just an employee. She was the one people were looking forward to seeing and the one running the show. In her younger years she was an avid reader and always enjoyed crossword puzzles. Beatrice A. Carpenter 91 of Throop passed away peacefully at Serenity Care Peckville. Her husband of 54 years was Forrest L. Carpenter Jr. who passed away October 18 2018. Born August 11 1934 in Scranton daughter of the late Anthony and Philomena Mamie Penachio Colangelo. Beatrice was a graduate of West Scranton High School Class of 52. After graduation she went to work at The Scranton Dry Goods then at Quackenbush Warehouse and was later employed at Clarolite Lamp Shade Factory as a bookkeeper before being introduced to Forrest who was friends with her future brotherinlaw Thomas. Once married Beatrice became a fulltime stay at home mom where she and Forrest raised four children. She was an active member of the PTA during her childrens enrollment in school a proud member of Saint Patricks Church Saint Carlos and was the unofficial matriarch of the neighborhood. Born in Scranton she was the daughter of Linda Ghigiarelli Flannery and the late John P. Flannery. She was a 2000 graduate of Scranton Prep a 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and received her Masters degree from the University of Scranton in 2009. Bridget worked for the Social Security Administration in Endicott NY as a Disability Analyst. Her favorite things were visits to the beach with her friends holidays with her niece and nephews and spending time with Louie. In addition to her mother she is survived by her sister Erin Seely and husband Fred of West Chester PA her brother Christopher Flannery and wife Anh of Roanoke Virginia niece and nephews Rae and Roman Flannery and Shane and Wesley Seely. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am at Church of Saint Gregory 330 North Abington Road Clarks Summit. Interment will follow…
