John J. Fitzgerald 84 passed away unexpectedly at Geisinger CMC Hospital in Scranton on February 11 2026. He was born June 10th 1941 in the Bronx Borough of New York City to John and Helen Curtin Fitzgerald. Jack as he was better known at an early age became the manager of one of the NYU Bookstores in the Greenwich Village area of New York and attended New York University. From there he moved on to working for Smith Corona Marchant in the sale of mechanical calculators and then on to Philips Business Systems carrying 30pound machines on the streets of Manhattan. Jack was known for his physical fitness and worked for the European Health Clubs for several years but yearning for the outdoors was employed as a Sears Warehouse dock worker waiting for a promised call from New Jersey Bell which he received and moved to his final occupation in…

Eugene Paul Villaume 99 of Honesdale passed away Thursday February 12 2026 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia "Ginny" Claire Villaume who passed away in 2006. Born February 10 1927 in Honesdale he was a son of the late John and Carolyn Koenig Villaume. Eugene was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy as a Yoeman 3rd Class. He received the WWII Victory Medal as well as The American Campaign Medal. He graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelors degree and was employed as a bookkeeper at the Farview Prison and retired from Narrowsburg Lumber Company. He was a lifelong member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and served on the church council and property committee a 60year member of Waymart Lodge No. 542 FAM a member of Texas 4 Fire Company and delivered Meals on Wheels with his wife.
