Joan Schroeder Kindig, 73, of Crozet, Va. passed away in January, 2026 at her home.Born August 27, 1952 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Harold Schroeder and Veronica McNulty Schroeder and was preceded in death by both of her parents.Joan grew up in the Long Island area of New York amongst a large extended family. She later received her bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University. After graduating, she took a leap of faith and drove across the country to California with some college friends and her dog Orville. Living in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the 1970s, she worked for legendary music promoter Bill Graham and one of the premier musical talent management firms of the time; crossing paths with musicians like Crosby, Stills & Nash and Jackson Browne.In the early 1980s she returned to the east coast with her young family, where she spent the rest of…
