Consuelo “Susie” Mendoza was born on May 13, 1944 in Cebu City, Philippines to Adolfo and Remedios Fermin, and an older sister to Josephine “Joy” Pacia. She graduated college at the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, with a Bachelor of Sciences in Education. In the late 60’s, Susie became a fourth grade teacher in Matab-ang, Philipines and rented a bedroom from Salud Mendoza, who lived across the street from the school. Salud’s youngest son, Winefredo “Winnie” Mendoza, was mesmerized when he met Susie and the two fell in love instantly. On May 9, 1973, they got married, and in December, they had a daughter and named her Nathalie Magdalene Mendoza. In January of 1978, they had a son and named him Jake Noel Mendoza.Winnie moved to San Francisco in the early 1970's then in 1977, Susie joined him, leaving their daughter behind to be raised by her sister…
