Ashton Joseph Shelley Jr., a bright and joyful spirit, was born on September 29, 2025, in Scranton, PA. He brought endless happiness to those around him until his untimely passing on March 23, 2026, at the tender age of six months. Ashton resided in Kingston, PA, and will be forever remembered for his infectious smile and loving nature.Ashton was surrounded by a loving family, including his devoted parents, Ashton Shelley and Alyssa Pearson, his adoring big brother, Aspen Shelley, and his beloved grandmothers, Melissa Shelley - Fina and Melody Witt. He is also survived by his uncles Eli Pearson, Lucas Aregood, and Jacob Shelley, his aunts Sierra Dickson and Lilyana Pearson, and his great-grandmother Michele Witt, as well as his step-grandfather, Jim Fina. Walter S. Carpenter passed away April 1 2026 leaving behind a legacy of learning and compassion. He was more than just a teacher. He was a mentor who believed in every childs potential. He was a husband father grandfather brother principal friend coach and so much more. He was a member of Smithland Baptist Church in Heathsville Virginia where he served as a Deacon and a member of the church choir. Robert T. Alesczyk

Robert Thomas Alesczyk age 75 formerly of Plains Township passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family in Harrisburg on March 29 2026 where he was cared for by his daughter Tara Pennypacker and his wife Joan. He lived a beautiful life guided by respect for God and his country. Born in WilkesBarre on April 13 1950 Robert was the beloved son of Robert and Regina Berrini Alesczyk. He was one of four siblings raised in the Plains Area. Robert attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Plains Memorial High School in 1968 where he played on the basketball team. In October 1968 Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force. During the Vietnam War he served in Arizona Nevada Vietnam and Thailand. Joseph Thomas Surdel 96 Army Veteran of the Miners Mills section of WilkesBarre went home to our Lord on Monday March 30. Born and raised in WilkesBarre he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Potash Surdel and married the love of his life Roberta Burry Surdel. Joseph attended Coughlin High School and was employed by the Bern Sign Company for over 35 years until his retirement. Joseph was a devoted husband father grandfather great grandfather brother and friend to all. He was a skilled electrician carpenter harmonica player and at one point a dance instructor claiming his favorite dance was the salsa. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as a warm cup of coffee a good homecooked meal doing acrobats hunting fishing watching old westerns on T.V. card games storytelling and playing slots at Mohegan P.A. which he referred to as "going up the hill".…
