A visitation period will be held Friday August 21st from 1030 a.m. 11 a.m. at St. John Episcopal Church 1145 Buffalo St. in Franklin where a memorial service will follow Friday at 11 a.m. L. Jim Mitchell 92 of Oil City died Thursday morning August 13 2026 at The Caring Place in Franklin. He was born in Braddock Pennsylvania on May 5 1934 to the late Leonard J. and Elizabeth Steigerwald Mitchell. Jim served in the United States Air Force from 1955 through 1959 stationed at Cape Cod Massachusetts. He attended Christ Episcopal Church in Oil City and currently was attending St. John Episcopal Church in Franklin where he sang in the choir. He also sang in the Venango Chorus. She was a 1983 graduate of Cranberry High School and a 1991 graduate of the Oil City VoTech LPN Program. Sherie was a former member of Seneca United Methodist Church and was currently attending Oil City Vineyard Church. She was a bowler in the 90s and also enjoyed attending softball games to watch her daughters and nieces play. She enjoyed going to Toto and Journey concerts her pets and granddogs and loved her work as a nurse where she found honor in providing geriatric care. Sherie worked as a CNA while attending school to become an LPN. She then worked for Oakwood Heights in Oil City for nearly 30 years. She retired from UPMCs Transitional Care Unit in 2024. George L. Biltz II 80 of Seneca went Home to his Lord and Savior Wednesday night August 5 2026 at Oakwood Heights Village in Oil City. George was an active member and faithful servant at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City where he served on several committees and was involved in many church activities. He was a loving and kind man and set an excellent example for his grandchildren. George enjoyed snowmobiling playing and coaching softball hunting working on his small farm raising beef cattle and attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed the beach and spending winter months in the Florida sun.
